Intelligent Cyber-Physical Systems for Manufacturing

Goran D. PUTNIK, Luis FERREIRA, Vijaya Kumar MANUPATI, Pedro PINHEIRO, Leonilde VARELA, Catia ALVES

The paper referred shortly to applications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) in manufacturing. The paper is structured in three parts: the first part provides a general review of AI/ML in manufacturing, the second part presents the Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) as one of the main constructs of manufacturing systems within Industry 4.0 characterized by the use of AI/ML, together with an example of AI/ML based CPS efficiency. The third part presents some possible future developments related to manufacturing, especially in the context of prevised, by many authors, future AGI and ASI (Artificial General Intelligence, and Artificial Super Intelligence).

Industry 5.0 and Cybersecurity: A Study of Emerging Challenges

Gordana OSTOJIĆ, Stevan STANKOVSKI

Industry 5.0 focuses on creating a more human-centric approach by emphasizing the collaboration between humans and machines, rather than replacing human labor entirely. On the other hand, there is a cybersecurity concern that has grown into a fundamental aspect of strategic decision-making, especially for industries transitioning to Industry 5.0. In the paper key features of Industry 5.0. are represented, cybersecurity threats and key strategies to mitigate the emerging cybersecurity risks. Also, government policies, standards, and regulations are presented since they play a vital role in standardizing cybersecurity practices.
